The wellness village is led by Dr.S.Dhanvanthri Premvel, a renowned Ayurvedic Doctor from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, whose family legacy in Ayurveda spans over 80 years. With deep roots in classical Ayurvedic practice, Dr.S.D.Premvel and his team have successfully established more than 25 Ayurvedic branches across Tamil Nadu, earning trust for their authentic treatments, ethical practices, and result-oriented healing.
Joining him in this endeavor are Mr. Vasanth Krishnan and Mr. Aravindan Krishnan, visionary business entrepreneurs and promoters of Tycoon Resort & Tycoon Club, and a growing chain of premium resorts and clubs in Tamil Nadu. Their expertise in hospitality, wellness tourism, and luxury experiences brings global standards, refined infrastructure, and sustainable business practices to the Ayush ecosystem.

For over 80 years, Dhanvanthri Nilayam Ayurveda Vaidhyasalai has been a beacon of hope for those seeking the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in Tamilnadu. Established in 1945, this institution has not only been a pioneer in spreading the knowledge of Ayurveda but also a custodian of traditions passed down through generations.
Ayurveda, the traditional science that has existed for over 5000 years in India, embodies a holistic approach to well-being, focusing on the perfect balance between the body, mind, and spirit. It is often considered an upaveda of the Atharwana Veda. This system emphasizes natural medicine, methods, therapies, and the importance of a balanced diet, exercise, and lifestyle management.
The journey of Dhanvanthri Nilayam began in the heart of Madurai, near the Meenakshi Amman Temple, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Velayutham Pillai, the founder. His aim was to develop Ayurveda and serve the people through this ancient system of medicine.
Dr. Velayutham Pillai’s vision was faithfully carried forward by his son, Dr. V. Somasekar, who continued to uphold the authenticity of Ayurveda. As part of this development, the clinic was relocated to Alagappan Nagar in Madurai to promote the growth and expansion of Ayurveda.
In 1995, the legacy was further enriched when Dr. S. Dhanvanthri Premvel, the elder son of Dr. Somasekar, joined the mission. Under his guidance, Dhanvanthri Nilayam has expanded its reach, establishing branches across Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Under his visionary leadership, Dhanvanthri Nilayam expanded significantly, opening branches across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. In 2011, the hospital expanded again, increasing its capacity to 12 in-patient beds, and by 2018, it reached 15 beds at Sundarar Street. Continuing its mission to make Ayurveda accessible, out-patient (OP) services began at Sundarar Street in 2021. The institution further grew in 2024, introducing 15 IP beds at North Gate and another 15 at West Gate, marking a new milestone in its expansion.
The current generation of leadership includes Dr. Vishak P. Dhanvanthri and P. Dhanvanthri Rohit, who bring a modern perspective to traditional medicine. Their focus on integrating research-based Ayurvedic treatments, wellness programs, and advanced diagnostic techniques has positioned Dhanvanthri Nilayam as a leader in holistic healthcare.
A hallmark of Dhanvanthri Nilayam is its unique diagnostic method known as “Pulse Diagnosis” or “Nadi Pariksha.” This traditional, non-invasive technique helps identify health issues and create personalized treatment plans. The center also offers fresh, research-based medications, specialized diet and lifestyle consultations, and a team of 23 expert doctors trained in Ayurveda.

Vasanth Krishnan and Aravind Krishnan are brothers, born to Mr. Krishnan, a respected agricultural landlord whose deep-rooted connection to the land and sustainable practices profoundly shaped their early values. Raised with a strong appreciation for agriculture, stewardship, and disciplined enterprise, they carry forward this legacy by integrating traditional wisdom with a contemporary business vision.
